Hip and Lower Limb Pain

Does it hurt to walk or bear weight on one side? Injuries to your hips, knees and ankles can negatively impact your quality of life and makes it difficult to do everyday tasks. Finding out what is causing your pain and what to do about it, is my job.

During your consultation, we will discuss the best solution for your specific injury. I teach my patients how important it is to listen to your body. There isn’t always the requirement to cease activity, but to limit further injury and promote healing, I often advise sensible changes to your routine based on your lifestyle and ability. For instance, if you are fanatic about exercise but have a reoccurring injury, it may be necessary to undertake specific exercises to strengthen the afflicted area. You may also need to switch up your current regime to include gentle exercise, over shorter distances and duration, at least until you are feeling better. Thereafter, you can increase the frequency of activity, build up distances and duration in line with your recovery. At the end of your treatment plan, you can feel confident that you have reduced the risk of reoccurring injury in the future.
